On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the men and
women of the Fire District, I welcome you to the Web Site of
the Carol Stream Fire Protection District!
The Carol Stream Fire District provides fire and emergency
medical services for all of the Village of Carol Stream,
portions of the Villages of Bloomingdale, Winfield, and
Glendale Heights, and the unincorporated areas of Carol
Stream, Wheaton, West Chicago, and Bartlett. The District
includes about 15 square miles with a population of 46,000.
About 25% of the District is commercial and industrial
development.
The personnel at the Fire District deliver the very best in
firefighting, emergency medical, specialized rescue, fire
code enforcement, and public education services. We do this
because of the dedication of our personnel to be the most
educated and prepared emergency service providers.
Because being prepared is so important, the Fire District
maintains a full scale training facility, the only one in
western DuPage County.
In addition to emergency services, Fire District personnel
provide routine fire safety inspections of all industrial,
commercial, educational, and multi-family buildings in the
Fire District. Public safety education is also emphasized
through school programs, open houses, business fire
extinguisher training, block parties, and other events.
Prevention of fires and other emergencies is a significant
part of our profession.
Please browse our Web Site and learn more about us. If you
have any questions or would like more information, please
send me a note at any time.
Sincerely,
Richard W. Kolomay
Fire Chief
